This old vineyard, close to Meursault and on the same contour with the same soil composition as Chevalier Montrachet, contains a thick broken limestone substrata showing through the thin topsoil. The 53 year old vines ensure complexity, power and intensity.
This is an En Primeur wine and special conditions apply.

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

This relatively young domaine was established in 2005 by brothers Marc and Alex Bachelet along with their father Jean François and Uncle Monnot. Situated in the village of Dezize-lès-Maranges, southwest of Santenay, the domaine consists of 10ha of owned vineyards as well as a further 10 on long-term lease, covering the appellations of Santenay, Maranges and Puligny Montrachet. This is a star domaine on the rise. The vineyards are farmed organically with strict de-budding to reduce the yields, whilst the winemaking philosophy is very much one of non-intervention.

this is a wonderful polished wine demonstrating classic Puligny character, steely and mineral with a sumptuous wet stone minerality. A profound tropical fruit wrap continues with a long and intense finish.
The wine was matured in 25% new oak, using larger 350 litre demi-muids to restrain the oak character for 12 months, with regular racking and finished in steel tanks for 6 months prior to bottling.
