Château Leoville Barton

This Château is always one of the best selling wines, due to its consistent high quality and the long standing commitment by the Barton family to maintain a sensible pricing policy. The vineyards are intensely planted with 9,100 vines per ha. Aged for 18 months in 60% new oak, this is a balanced and impressive claret, very much in the Leoville style.
Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, the nose is rich, dark and intense in the glass. The palate is a combination of sweet black fruits cut with notes of savoury capsicum, cedar and some graphite. The palate is powerful and somewhat opulent, sweet-edged and muscular and then it tightens on the finish. A superb claret!
Enjoy with a classic beef wellington.
Harvest dates: 12th September - 5th October. Yield of 50hl/ha. Aged in 60% French oak barrels for 18 months. Alc 13%.
