Domaine Michel Lafarge

This 10ha domaine produces some of the finest wines in Volnay and has been farmed biodynamically since 1999. It is run by Michel Lafarge and his son Frédéric, who farm their vineyards using biodynamic principles. The Pinot Noir characteristics are show cased brilliantly at this domaine. Very little new oak is used, only around 5%, with barrels between 2 and 5 years preferred. The style is alluring, complex and harmonious and is exactly what one looks for in great Volnay
Yields of 43hl/ha, there is no new oak used in the elevation of this wine, it is simply a perfect expression of Pinot Noir and the Volnay appellation itself. Whiffs of sweet strawberry fruits, it is seductive and velvety in texture, pomegranate freshness, super suave ripe tannins and a dose of minerality continues to the finish. Simply outstanding!
