Château Talbot

This Château has always had a very strong following amongst our customers here in the North of England - no doubt due to its continued policy of offering good Claret at a competitive price to its peers. A very good wine that will age well.

Aged in 60% new oak, this is a really impressive wine from this Château, now a consistent top performer of the St Julien appellation. Impressively structured, tight and classic in style, the fruit is fleshy with concentrated blackberry, plums and a touch of chocolate which adds to the viscosity on the palate. There is spice and forest floor and the tannins are perfectly tuned, whilst the finish is taut with notes of cedar.
Delicious with beef ribs with mushrooms, bacon and potatoes.
Harvest dates: 13th September - 6th October. Yields in 2023 were 54hl/ha. Château Talbot is vinified in a combination of temperature controlled, large, truncated, wood vats and stainless steel tanks. The stainless steel tanks are used only for the young vines. The wine of Château Talbot is then aged in 60% new, French oak barrels for an average of 14-16 months. Alc 13%
