Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

A very severe selection for the first wine has resulted in a leap in quality for the second wine at this Château. The grapes for this wine come from the central part of the St Julien commune. A super second wine from a "super second" Classed Growth property.

Aged for 18 months in 100% new oak, this is a beautifully crafted wine that puts this Château in the upper echelons of the 2023 performance league. A dreamy bouquet showing intense black fruit aromas and a whiff of graphite. The palate is quite sumptuous, classic with Cabernet Sauvignon domination and beautifully woven tannins that complement the structured and powerful core. This s a multi-layered wine that is balanced by an energetic and fragrant freshness.
Enjoy with a classic beef wellington.
Yield of 41 hl/ha. Aged in 100% new oak for 18 months. Barrels are sourced from 9 different coopers.
