This château has historically been overlooked as a source of top claret. That all changed back in 1989 when it was acquired by AXA Millésimes, also owners of Pichon Baron. Since then it has been on a constant upward trajectory and is now producing excellent wine with great consistency.

Château Cantenac Brown

This château has historically been overlooked as a source of top claret. That all changed back in 1989 when it was acquired by AXA Millésimes, also owners of Pichon Baron. Since then it has been on a constant upward trajectory and is now producing excellent wine with great consistency.

Cantenac Brown has yet again delivered a fabulous wine in 2023. Elegant, rich and intense, refined, complex and even sumptuous, showing dark forest fruits, integrated oak and finely tuned, balanced tannins.
A perfect partner for roast rack of lamb served pink.
Harvest dates: 7th September - 5th October. Yields of 39hl/ha. Aged in 60% new oak barrels and 40% in one year old barrels for 16 months.
