After the devastating hailstorm of late August 2022 that struck the famed Plateau of La Crau, which meant there was no 2022 vintage, we are delighted to see its return with the 2023 vintage.

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

Vieux Télégraphe is one of the most renowned estates of the Southern Rhône. The large Domain has about 45 hectares of red grapevines planted, with an average age of around 55 years. Blessed with one of the finest locations in the area, the particularly hot microclimate is such that the Brunier Family, owners of the estate for almost a century, are able to harvest as much as a week ahead of their neighbours.

The nose is intense and inviting with masses of ripe blackberries, red cherries and wild herbs, complemented by a touch of garrigue and delicate spices. On the palate, the wine is rich and concentrated yet refined, with black fruits, liquorice and a striking minerality that imparts both freshness and precision. The finish is long and structured, with lingering notes of salinity, promising excellent aging potential. A true reflection of the plateau’s character, this vintage showcase intensity, balance, and finesse.
The perfect partner to a tender beef fillet.
The grand vin is produced from 70-year-old vines, with grapes undergoing meticulous sorting—twice in the vineyard and a third time in the winery. The wine is then aged for 22 months in French oak foudres.
