The second wine of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, a top Châteauneuf producer, whose winery sits on the site of a former telegraph station which is where the name derives from and is famous for producing wine with a highly distinctive minerality sourced from vineyards planted on the Plateau de ‘La Crau'. Produced in a very different way to “La Crau”, the blend is bolstered by the addition of grapes from 45 year old vines of Château La Roquette, Vieux Télégraphe’s sister property. This is a classic Télégramme! Drink while you wait for “La Crau” to age.

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

Vieux Télégraphe is one of the most renowned estates of the Southern Rhône. The large Domain has about 45 hectares of red grapevines planted, with an average age of around 55 years. Blessed with one of the finest locations in the area, the particularly hot microclimate is such that the Brunier Family, owners of the estate for almost a century, are able to harvest as much as a week ahead of their neighbours.

"The plump, succulent 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Telegramme offers cheerful strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant, offering plenty of near-term enjoyment. Tasted twice, with consistent notes." 91/100 points, Joe Czerwinski, WINE ADVOCATE, September 2023
