Deep purple with violet hints. Intense and powerful nose, characterised by hints of ripe blackberry and black cherry. A gentle vegetal note brings freshness. The palate is juicy, packed with fruit and a touch of spice and bay, with a fine texture and beautiful tannic structure. Long and powerful.
The grapes are mechanically harvested at night. They are de-stemmed and then undergo a traditional vinification: daily pumping over to extract the colour, tannins and aromas. Fermentation lasts around 2 weeks before running-off, racking and pressing. Maturation is carried out in concrete tanks.

Wine Merchant Magazine, August 2024: "We can only hope that Languedoc winemaker Philippe Lebrun has done his sums correctly because this seems like an awful lot of wine for under 10 quid. He's judiciously sourced fruit from hither, sometimes thither, and created a sumptuous, plummy but light-footed red with hints of spices and bayleaf." Joanna Simon, Wine of the Week, July 2024: "There’s nothing complicated about this week’s red wine and that’s the point. It’s just a joy to drink – a comforting hug of juicy plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit, a whiff of violets, a dash of spicy liquorice and a splash of black tapenade. All it asks is that you fill your glass, sit back and relax... This is the kind of wine to take to your holiday cottage or next camping trip, knowing that it’s going to fall in with everyone (it’s vegetarian and vegan) and every barbecue or contemplative star-gazing evening. More specifically, it can be paired with steak, barbecued beef short ribs, pork belly, chorizo, lamb, moussaka (vegetarian or meat), tagines, beetroot risotto, cooked red pepper dishes. or vegetarian chilli." Will Lyons, The Times, 2024, 'Six great picnic wines for summer': "This smooth, rich, succulent red has a soft texture and warming notes of blackcurrant and violet."
