Xavier Roger

Xavier Roger’s roots were firmly in the vineyards of Sancerre in the Loire Valley. Son of Jean-Max Roger whose 34ha domaine in the village of Bué, just south-west of town of Sancerre, is renowned for its production of high quality, Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Pouilly Fumé. However three is a crowd, and with his brothers Thibault and Etienne working at the family domaine, Xavier set out on his own and made his own way.

Glossy pale yellow in appearance with an intense and bright nose. Citrus fruit notes dominate floral notes. A crisp, fresh and light wine with very good aromatic persistence.
Enjoy on its own as an apéritif, or with fish.
The grapes are picked during the night, destemmed and finally go through skin contact maceration. This process enhances the structure and complexity of the wine. A gentle and meticulous pressing leads to a soft extraction of the most aromatic juices. Aging is made in tanks to keep a fruity style.
