The small Grand Cru of Combes sits on the South Western slope of the mighty Corton Hill, with steep slopes of red oxidised clay and thin soils. Tollot-Beaut own exactly half (0.75ha) of this 1.50ha Grand Cru that sits on deep red iron rich soils.

Domaine Tollot-Beaut was one of the first domaine to bottle its own wines back in 1921 when most growers simply sold their wines to the local negociants, and it has retained its ground breaking ethos to the present day. This wine is powerful, regal and expressive, laden with viscous crème de mur. Opulent and deeply complex, the tannins are powerful but also very plush and there is a lovely whiff of freshness that provides perfect balance. A top wine!
Hand-picked, small baskets with a sorting table used to discard grapes deemed not good enough, fully destemmed, fermented in tank then transferred into oak, 50% new for 18 months
