Matias is an enthusiastic young winemaker leading his family wine business in its third generation. Founded in 1950 by Lebanese immigrants, who bought a Vineyard with vines planted 70 years prior. The focus pre-Matias was the production of bulk wine for the booming domestic market, where consumption quadrupled. Matias made it his personal mission to produce exceptional quality wines; using old Pergola trained vines, restoring the 100-year-old winery and refurbishing and dividing old concrete tanks for small batch production. The Vineyard’s are located in East Mendoza, with altitudes ranging from 600-1,100 metres above sea level.
Rose pink in the glass. On the nose, honey, candied orange and lemon peel with a hint of honeysuckle and white flowers. On the palate, a good acidity coupled with dried citrus fruits, raisins and a floral finish.
Fermented in cement vats at low temperatures. With the idea to keep as much freshness as possible. Skin contact is used throughout. Achieving a unique flavour and good complexity is the aim of this technique but also, imperatively, fresh aromatics and varietal expression. 6 months spent on Lees to enhance the complexity further and balance the acidity.
