Piquepoul, or Picpoul, is a French variety of grape which grows primarily in the Rhône Valley and Languedoc regions, as well as in Catalonia, Spain. Picpoul Blanc, although it may be used as a blending grape in the production of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, makes excellent individual white wines, as its sweet flavour and dry body cut through any acidity to make Picpoul Blanc wines the perfect accompaniment to sweet or fruity foods.
