The September 2022 release of Cask Strength from Ardnamurchan, this year's sees the folks at the distillery opt for a higher percentage of peated whisky compared to previous releases, aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, alongside unpeated, sherry-aged malt. Bottled at 58.4%, a Highland single malt that's certainly on the smokier side.

Adelphi Distillery

The Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery built 1826 by Charles and david gray on the banks of the river Clyde just south of Victoria Bridge on the northern edge of the Gorbals. After many years of troubles in1971 came the final demolition of the Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery. In 1993 Jamie Walker (the great-grandson of Archibald Walker) revives the Adelphi name as an independent bottler in order to explore the mysteries of malt whisky and to make a limited number of rare, well-aged and top-quality malt whiskies available to the discerning whisky enthusiast. Aromas of maritime smoke, with oaky vanilla, and lemon zest. The palate has hints of coastal peat, with ripe summer berries, warm oak, and gentle, peppery spice. On the finish the peat lingers, with gentle seaweed salinity.
