A family owned Estate on very fertile Vineyards. This region in Hawkes Bay is shielded by mountain to the West, but utilises its maritime climate well, with the help of low rainfall annually. Their Vineyard is one of the first legally protected areas, vines having been planted in 1892.
Bursting with red fruit. On the nose raspberry, red berry and strawberry . On the palate the fruit develops and burst with a floral edge, aniseed and smoke. Sweet spicy cinnamon can be tasted as well as the bursting acidity from the red fruit.
Carbonic Maceration is used on 65% on the grapes to enhance the fruit and floral quality of the wine. The other 35% are receive a warm traditional fermentation. They are combined and matured in French oak for nine weeks.
