Verdelho is a white grape variety from Portugal, and though it is commonly associated with Madeira, wine regions like Alentejo and the Douro Valley of Portugal have also been growing the grape for quite some time, making sweet white wines with high body and acidity. Verdelho wines often have a citrus taste and an astringent, sharp texture, making for a refreshing taste. While usually light on the palate, some Verdelho wines can have intense flavouring and structure.
