Savagnin is a white wine grape originating in the French Alps, and goes into the blends of some of the finest white wines in the Jura Department of France. Like many white wines of the Jura, Savagnin wines are full bodied, with moderate acidity, and floral notes. Very similar to the Traminer and Gewürztraminer grapes of Germany and Austria, it normally produces golden, full-bodied wine with heady aromas of lychees, rose petals and white peaches.
