Muscat refers to over 200 different grape varieties, the most notable of which is Muscat Blancs à Petits Grains, which makes the best Muscat wines. The only grape to produce wines that taste of grapes, it produces a wide range of Muscat wine from pale, bone dry whites, through to golden yellow, rich, sweet wines. With pronounced spice and floral notes Muscat can also be used for blending. A versatile grape that can turn into anything from Asti Spumante and Muscat de Canelli to a dry wine like Muscat d’Alsace.
