Set in the Mount Lebanon mountain range, the Bekka valley produces almost 90% of Lebanon’s wine, including large amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache. Red wine from Lebanon usually has a full body and an acidic, tannic structure. The region’s terroir helps to protect the vineyards from the elements, with a rain shadow from the mountain range and also provides fresh water in a constant flow of glacial water coming down from the melting ice on the mountains.
