Cognac, named after the town of Cognac in France, is a variety of brandy mainly produced using Ugni Blanc grapes. At House of Townend we stock a great portfolio of Cognacs produced by both the big chateaux’s and the smaller bespoke houses of the Cognac region. Typically served neat to be able to really enjoy the rich and complex notes that are the result of being matured and aged in barrels, Cognac is also great when mixed.
Armagnac is a distinctive kind of brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, South West France. At House of Townend we offer Armagnac from two very different producers with the intention of continually increase our range in line with the current trends and demands for Armagnac. Typically served as a digestif after a satisfying meal, a glass of Armagnac also acts as a great sauce to be poured neat over desserts.
