The story begins around a table with Jean Darroze in his restaurant. With a deep love for his native Southwest and its secular tradition, this iconic cook of Landes gastronomy introduces his son Francis to the culinary arts, fine wines and the fine eaux-de-vie of Gascony. From the end of the 60s, Francis Darroze intensifies his visits to the lands of Bas Armagnac and selects, matures and bottles his most treasured discoveries. Maison Armagnac Darroze is born and the adventure starts. Today, around thirty domains are contributing to this extraordinary collection, perfecting its aging in cellars in both Roquefort and Labastide d’Armagnac. Rare and historical pieces as well as eaux-de-vie right out of the still of a small producer or distilled by a renowned itinerant distiller have been selected and watched for over 20 years by Marc Darroze, moved by the same values and the same passion as Jean, his grandfather and Francis, his father. Guided by his visionary instinct, Francis Darroze soon realizes that Armagnac can be worked just like wine : with a unique domain, no blending and in small and perfectly traceable batches. A vision and devotion he shared with his son Marc, today at the helm of Armagnacs Darroze, offering a great variety of rare armagnacs that highlight the work of local craftsmen.
